Heater Basics – What is a Heater?

Electric heating is a method by which electrical energy is transformed to mechanical energy, usually heat. Most common uses for electric heating are cooking, hot water heating, and space heating. An electric heater is simply an electronic device which converts an electrical current to mechanical energy. The most basic electric heater works on the following principle: the input (electrical energy) is passed through an insulated heating element, the heat source (usually gas or oil) passes through the element’s outer surface, and the heat generated by the passage of the heat source is radiated outwards. This process generates heat energy which is radiated into the room.

There are many types of electric space heaters available in the market today. The most commonly used electric heater in residential homes is the electric fireplace heater, sometimes also referred to as a space heater. Electric space heaters are also referred to as fireplaces. Electric space heaters are not only very efficient and effective, but also very safe.

One type of electric heater that is most popular with homemakers is the convection heater. The convection heater works by using a fan that blows air over a heating element that is typically located inside the home, creating a heat that is radiated outwards from the center of the appliance. The most popular models of these appliances are those that can be installed in an unheated crawlspace area. Other types of heaters are also used in commercial buildings such as hotels and dormitories, and can range from small radiant heaters to elaborate systems that use many different technologies, including pumps and furnaces. In this main article, we will look at the most common types of electric heating systems and the most popular appliances.

The most commonly used electric radiant heater in a home is the convection heater. These devices utilize a heated metal plate to radiate heat from the center of the burner where it is located. Most of these appliances utilize an aluminum or stainless steel outer surface to absorb heat. They generally have two burners with one located on top of the other in a manner so that the bottom of the appliance is always above the hot surface. The main advantage of these kinds of electric radiant heaters is that they are extremely efficient, even when compared to oil filled radiators. High temperature convection heaters, on the other hand, utilize electric currents to transfer heat from one location to another, usually in the form of steam or water. Electric boilers are highly efficient when it comes to this application, and they can transfer temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. These types of heaters are extremely useful in applications where there needs to be a consistent, high temperature to be sustained for any significant amount of time. Examples of places that make use of high temperature electric boilers include medical equipment, industrial machinery, and food processing plants. In addition, they can also be used to transfer warmth to homes and offices.

One should keep in mind that both of these types of heating devices, although similar in function, work in different ways. A radiator works by using a container filled with water or some other fuel such as oil to provide heated air within the container. Convection heater functions by using a heated element in its core to radiate heat from the element, which is usually located at the bottom of the heating element. Overall, these are very useful and efficient heaters that can be an excellent choice for any type of heater application.
