Mosquito Control is the management of the insect population of mosquitoes in order to minimize their destructive damage to crops, human health, and recreation. Mosquito control is an essential public-health practice around the world and particularly in the tropics since mosquitoes spread a number of diseases, including the West Nile virus and malaria. It is cost effective and simple to implement as it does not require the use of hazardous chemicals. You can get more information about Mosquito Control Grand Rapids

Mosquito Control is usually done by using liquid pesticides that either contain chlorinated compounds or boron. Mosquito Control is usually regulated by the function of adulticides, which are injected to the surrounding areas where the adult mosquitoes lay their eggs to prevent reproduction. Mosquito eggs can hatch in three to nine days after being laid. The larvae, which also lay eggs, feed on the blood of the adult insects and become free from the adulticide after some time.

Mosquito Control is doing using insect repellents, which are applied to the areas where there are high concentrations of adult mosquitoes. Currently, United States manufactures and distributes a variety of different kinds of insect repellent sprays. Some of the most popular insect repellents are:

Aerial spraying is a form of insect repellent where a dropper containing a pesticide is attached to an aircraft. The dropper is released into the area and can be collected later by hand. The aerial spraying prevents mosquitoes from hatching anywhere near the areas where the aerial spraying has been conducted. Areas that do not have mosquito bites are called “enclosed zones.” During mosquito control, spraying is usually done in conjunction with hand washing.

Mosquito repellents come in the form of foggers. Some of these foggers produce an odor that resembles a sawdust while others emit a hot steam. Cold fingers are better for mosquito control because it does not release any insect repellent into the air. foggers are usually made of a plastic tube containing a chemical that is activated by heat and a tiny fan and are available in different sizes.

Mosquito repellents can be combined with pyrethrin insecticides for maximum effect. Pyrethrin is an active ingredient of the majority of bloggers, cold fingers and spray paints. While still considered relatively safe, Pyrethrin has been banned in some parts of the United States because of possible links to cancer. Mosquito repellents containing permethrin are generally considered safe, but please consult your doctor before using any product containing this chemical. You can prevent mosquito bites with pyrethrin based mosquito control products.
